The Staff Accountant is an integral role in the success of EnableComp. This person is a direct resource for processing bills, expense reports and reconciliation of additional business accounts. The Staff Accountant is responsible for billing and general ledger accounting functions. Provides support in all accounting areas, including accounts payable, fixed assets and account reconciliation.  Performs daily general ledger entries, conducts bank reconciliations, accounting/financial report preparation, monthly billing, conduct periodic audits, etc. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process billings to ensure that all client invoices are billed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Assessing current billing operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
  • Ensure proper coding and approval of payable transactions.
  • Review expense reports for compliance with Company policies.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, including reconciliations and transfers.
  • Journal entry preparation and GL entry.
  • Reconciliation of GL accounts and bank statements, reporting of expenditures, GL management
  • Compile and analyze financial information.
  • Support members of accounting with accounts payable tasks, billing tasks, accounts receivable tasks, and the development and completion of special projects.
  • Assist in the monthly and quarterly close processes including: schedules to auditors, general ledger account variance explanations, and other schedules necessary for close.
  • Use of independent judgement and discretion as it relates to responsibilities detailed above.
  • Other duties as required

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 2+ years' experience in accounting and billing.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, AP, AR, GL and financial reporting skills required.
  • Proficient understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Experience in healthcare or information technology industry with transactional business model preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • High-energy individual with strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to manage conflicting priorities, while being extremely adaptable and flexible.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Microsoft GP Accounting Software a plus.
